Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2024-04-26T00:17Z ( ACE: SWEPAM )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: SWEPAM
ACE: MAG
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
Activity ID: 2024-04-26T00:17:00-IPS-001 (version 1)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Characterized by an initial jump in solar wind speed from around 300->370 km/s alongside a jump in temperature, and a slow rise in Btotal and density starting around 2024-04-26T01:08Z, reaching a total of around 9.7 nT. Bz is predominantly southward reaching around -9nT. Analysis is ongoing to confirm the source, with a glancing blow from CME 2024-04-18T06:48Z as the most clear candidate which would indicate an arrival ~21 hours early based on M2M predictions.
